I wanted to share with you a letter I received. Recently, we had the opportunity to honor the memory of Tyler Trahan. Tyler died protecting our country and for that we are forever grateful. Our hearts and prayer go out to the Tyler's family and friends. We honor you for your sacrifice. Please know that Tyler is remembered by us and a thankful nation.
Dear Karen.
We just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your generous donation towards the Tyler Trahan Poker Tournament that we had on August 21, 2009. It is with insurmountable gratitude that we write this letter. Tyler was the type of person to support any cause that he believed in, and we truly do feel blessed for the many people, like yourself who believed in his cause.
The Poker Tournament was a massive success! Over 200 people played in the tournament and our raffle alone raised over $4,000! We are putting the proceeds towards the Tyler Trahan Memorial Fund, and we also sent the remaining nine men from Tyler’s Unit who are still in Iraq, nine care packages of carefully selected items that would bring smiles to their faces and would remind them of Tyler. We are going to be setting up scholarships with local schools at the end of the school year, and a $500 donation was also made in the name of Tyler Trahan to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
Without your charitable donation and your support, we would not have been able to do any of these things. Thank you for honoring Tyler’s memory, and for holding him in your heart.
With gratitude and Love,
Jean-Pierre, Maureen, and Moly Trahan

Deploy Peace joins forces with Delta Whiskey
Recently I was e-mailed by a Military wife who has a wonderful, helpful, and insightful blog. Her name is Delta Whiskey. I love that name! Interesting how she got it. Delta's husband is in the Air Force..Thank You Mr. Whiskey...and she not only loves her husband but she is pretty fond of the military as well. Delta loved the idea of our dog tags and asked if she could use them as a give a way on her blog. She wanted to have a contest. Here is part of what she wrote:
Now about the giveaway: Karen and I want to know what makes you proud of the military or proud to be an American living the dream the military affords you. We want you to leave a comment with 200 words or less (some of my tweeps were complaining that at least 200 words was way too much) explaining why you support our troops. As a Marine daughter and sister as well as being a proud Air Force wife, I cannot contain my pride for our troops. I can tell you that being part of the military community has driven home the idea that each of us desire peace. None of us want to fight a war or pack our husband’s mobility bag for another deployment. We do, however, understand the reality of war and the selfless dedication our troops have when it comes to defending our freedom.
I encourage all of you to go to her website, check it out, and if you'd like..take part in the contest. WWW.deltawhiskey.us
Even though these tags are give a ways, donations for them will still be made to the Fisher House Foundation.
HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK!

We Are Featured In May Edition of Ladies Home Journal
We are so honored to be featured in this month's Veteran Appreciation edition of Ladies Home Journal. I was was so surprised when I received a call from a friend telling me that he had in his hands a copy of the magazine. Once he told me where he got it I was racing across town to get my hands on a copy, or three, ok maybe four.
I was so very nervous. I cautiously opened the magazine thinking that there would be a little article, however, I was so so surprised to see right there on page 13 a full page feature about our company. All I could say was wow! Then I picked up all the copies except one or two and excitedly pointed out the the cashier we were in the magazine!
I just want everyone at the magazine how much I appreciate everything they are doing to help and support our troops. Everyone at Ladies Home Journal are so wonderful. The reporter was so sweet and committed to helping veterans and the photographer was such a gentleman and he put me at ease.
Since the magazine came out we have been receiving such wonderful notes of encouragement. I wanted to share some of those with you.
"I've just ordered one of your necklaces and wanted to say thank you for the wonderful work you are doing. I have been working for peace since the Viet Nam days. Keep up the nobel job you are doing." Sharri, Rochester NY
"I was just reading an issue of my mother's Ladies Home Journal and came across the "Give Peace A Chance" and was so moved. My husband deployed in September for his second tour in Iraq. I wish you all the success and if you find yourself in need of help in Pennsylvania I would love to lend a hand." Chrissy, Pittsburgh, PA
"I just want to thank you for what you and Ms. Barbara are doing with Deploy Peace. My brother is in the army and I wasn't sure about how I felt about it. Your Ladies Home Journal article really put it into words; I support my brother 100% but I want peace." A. Veenstra
"I saw your article in Ladies Home Journal and ordered a necklace. What a beautiful idea, not only do I support the cause and those whom it will benefit, I love the idea of up-cycling the metal for a higher purpose" Amy
"I read about you in a magazine at the Dr's office. I have a nephew in the Border Patrol who may be deployed to either Iraq or Afghanistan in July. One tag is for me, the others are for my sisters." Tricia
Thank you all for you comments and your support for our troops. We appreciate everything everyone is doing to help our heroes come home to communities where they feel supported, understood and honored for the sacrifices they have made for all of us.

Deploy Peace is very excited about the New Year
I can hardly believe the great response we got last year. I would like to thank all of you that supported Deploy Peace in it's mission to reunite military families.
This next year is showing promise as well. With Military Appreciation month coming in May, Ladies Home Journal wrote a small piece on us. I am doing a photo shoot tomorrow. Although I am very excited I'm a bit nervous. I hope to post pictures soon.
We are adding to our necklaces a new quote. Check the website soon to see it. I think you all will love it.
